Biography
Stephen Loomis was an American costume designer. He was born on 13 May 1947 in Mount Vernon, Ohio, and died on 21 October 2021 in Kettering, Ohio.
He worked as vice-president and head designer at Workroom 27 in Hollywood from 1972 to 1980. His film credits include costume design on The Fog (1980), Escape from New York (1981) and Bustin' Loose (1981). He also designed costumes for four episodes of The Richard Pryor Show in 1977 and worked on Separate Ways (1981).
Loomis was nominated for Best Costumes for Escape from New York by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films. He was a member of the Costume Designers Guild and the Motion Picture Costumers Guild. He was married to actress Nancy Kyes from 1971 to 1976.
