Biography
Steve Brown (25 October 1954 – 2 February 2024) was a British composer, lyricist, arranger and record producer. He appeared on screen as the put-upon bandleader Glenn Ponder in the BBC comedy series Knowing Me Knowing You with Alan Partridge (1994) and composed its music.
Brown wrote many songs for Spitting Image and served as its house composer and musical director. He collaborated extensively with Steve Coogan, Rory Bremner and Harry Hill, composed for series including Not Going Out, Dead Ringers and Ant & Dec programmes, and co-wrote the stage musical Spend Spend Spend (1998).
