Biography
Steve Franken was an American actor. Born Stephen Robert Franken in Queens, New York, in 1932, he made his screen debut in 1958 in an episode of the anthology series Playhouse 90. He appeared regularly as Chatsworth Osborne Jr. in the sitcom The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis (1960–1963).
Over a career spanning more than fifty years, Franken worked in film and television. His film roles include Levinson in The Party (1968), a technician in Westworld (1973), Steve Torres in Hardly Working (1980), and Cardinal Colbert in Angels & Demons (2009). He also provided voice work for series including Batman: The Animated Series (1992). Franken died in Canoga Park, California, in 2012.
