Biography
Sue Milliken is an Australian film and television producer and screenwriter. She began her career in the late 1960s at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation in the continuity department, later working freelance as a production manager on series such as Skippy the Bush Kangaroo before producing her first features in the late 1970s.
She is known for long collaborations with director Bruce Beresford, including The Fringe Dwellers (1985), Black Robe (1991), Paradise Road (1997) and Ladies in Black (2018), on which she also co-wrote the screenplay. Other credits include Sirens (1994), Dating the Enemy (1995) and producing numerous episodes of the US series Farscape (2000–2003). She has also produced documentaries and television films such as My Brother Jack (2001) and The Redfern Story (2014).
Milliken chaired the Australian Film Commission from 1994 to 1997 and has held leadership roles with Screen Producers Australia and other bodies. She received the Officer of the Order of Australia in 2008 and awards including the Raymond Longford Award and a Genie Award for Black Robe.
