Biography
Sulo Bärlund was a Finnish shot putter who won the silver medal at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin with a throw of 16.12 metres.
He was born on 15 April 1910 in Kangasala, Finland, and died there on 13 April 1986. Bärlund represented Tampereen Pyrintö and won the Finnish national title in the shot put seven times between 1935 and 1948. He also placed fourth at the 1938 European Championships and sixth in 1946.
Bärlund appeared uncredited as Self - Shot Put, Finland in the 1938 documentary film Olympia Part One: Festival of the Nations.
