Biography
Suzanne Cloutier was a Canadian actress. Born in Ottawa, Ontario, on 10 July 1923, she died in Montreal on 2 December 2003.
She began her career as a model in New York before appearing on stage with Charles Laughton and joining a Comédie Française touring company. Her film roles include parts in Temptation (1946), The Sinners (1949) and Juliette, or Key of Dreams (1951). She is best known for playing Desdemona in Orson Welles' Othello (1951).
Cloutier appeared in Doctor in the House (1954) and Romanoff and Juliet (1961). She was married to the actor and writer Peter Ustinov from 1954 until their divorce in 1971.
