Biography
Suzanne Pleshette (31 January 1937 – 19 January 2008) was an American actress. Born in Brooklyn, New York City, she trained at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre and began her career in theatre, appearing on Broadway in productions including Compulsion (1957) and replacing Anne Bancroft in The Miracle Worker (1962).
She made her screen debut in The Geisha Boy (1958) and gained attention for her role as Annie Hayworth in Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (1963). Pleshette appeared in other films such as Rome Adventure (1962) and Nevada Smith (1966), and was known for television roles including Emily Hartley in The Bob Newhart Show (1972–1978) and guest appearances in series such as Columbo and Bonanza. She provided the voice of Zira in The Lion King II: Simba's Pride (1998) and continued acting until 2004.
