Biography
Svetlana Kharitonova was a Soviet and Russian actress. She graduated from the Moscow Art Theatre School-Studio in 1954 and worked at the Moscow Academic Theatre of Satire from 1957 to 1969. She appeared in more than fifty films between 1955 and 1991, often in supporting roles.
Her screen credits include Irina in The Cranes Are Flying (1957), Fyokla in White Nights (1960), Elmira in It Can't Be! (1975), Anna Pavlovna in White Bim Black Ear (1977) and a role in Guest from the Future (1984). She later trained in directing, completing courses at Central Television in 1966 and the VGIK directing department in 1971.
Kharitonova was the first wife of actor Leonid Kharitonov. She was born Svetlana Sorokina in Moscow on 30 January 1932 and died there on 8 January 2012.
