Biography

Tai Bo is a Hong Kong actor, also credited as Chang Chia-Nien, Cheung Ka-Nin and similar variants. Born on 21 October 1950 in Hong Kong, he began in the film industry as a script supervisor and assistant director before moving into acting and stunt work.

He appeared in numerous Hong Kong action and comedy films, including roles in the Project A series (1983, 1987) and Police Story (1985). He also featured in Taiwanese cinema, playing Ah Jia in Hou Hsiao-hsien’s A City of Sadness (1989).

In later years Tai Bo has taken leading roles in independent films, winning Best Actor at the Hong Kong Film Awards for Twilight’s Kiss (2019, also known as Suk Suk).
