Biography
Takamaru Sasaki (30 January 1898 – 28 December 1986) was a Japanese actor. Born in Shibecha, Hokkaido, he appeared in numerous films and television productions from the 1950s to the 1980s.
He is known for roles including Kuniharu Tsuzuki in Akira Kurosawa's Throne of Blood (1957), Ishinsai Nakamura in The Sword of Doom (1966), Kenmotsu Sasahara in Samurai Rebellion (1967), and the Chairman of the Earth Committee in Invasion of Astro-Monster (1965). Other credits include A Colt Is My Passport (1967) and Zatoichi Meets the One-Armed Swordsman (1971).
Sasaki was the father-in-law of actor Minoru Chiaki and grandfather of actor Katsuhiko Sasaki. He also wrote the Japanese lyrics for 'The Internationale' in 1922.
