Biography
Tamo Kunz is a German production designer. Born on 9 February 1972, he studied civil engineering for six semesters at the Technical University of Hamburg before training as a qualified prop master at the Hanseatische Akademie. He began working as a set decorator and production designer, concentrating on film and television productions.
Kunz's first cinema credit as set decorator was on Fatih Akin's Gegen die Wand (also known as Head-On, 2004). He went on to collaborate with Akin on Auf der anderen Seite (2007), Soul Kitchen (2009) and Aus dem Nichts (2017), and designed the sets for Der Goldene Handschuh (2019), for which he received a German Film Award nomination. Other credits include Heiter bis wolkig (2012), Die Hände meiner Mutter (2016) and War Sailor (2022).
