Biography
Tatsuya Fuji is a Japanese actor. Born on 27 August 1941 in Beijing, he was raised in Yokohama and joined Nikkatsu in 1962, beginning his career with small roles.
He played Kichizō Ishida in Nagisa Ōshima’s In the Realm of the Senses (1976) and appeared in the director’s Empire of Passion (1978). Later credits include Bright Future (2003) and Ryuzo and the Seven Henchmen (2015). He has also featured in Radiance (2017).
Fuji married actress Izumi Ashikawa in 1968. He won the Golden Goblet Award for Best Actor in 2005 for Village Photobook and the Silver Shell for Best Leading Performance in 2023 for Great Absence.
