Biography
Tedde Moore was a Canadian actress. Born in Toronto in 1947, she trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, graduating in 1967 with the Principal's Medal of Honour, and performed at the Stratford Festival early in her career.
She is best known for playing Miss Shields in the 1983 film A Christmas Story, a role she reprised in the 1994 sequel My Summer Story, making her the only actor to appear in both. She received a Genie Award nomination for best supporting actress for the original film. Other credits include Murder by Decree (1979) and Second Wind (1976), for which she won a Canadian Film Award for best supporting actress. Her final screen role was in the 2017 television film Magical Christmas Ornaments.
Moore was the daughter of actor Mavor Moore and the granddaughter of theatre figure Dora Mavor Moore. She was the partner of filmmaker Donald Shebib until his death in 2023; their son is music producer Noah Shebib, known as 40.
