Biography
Tenzin Lodoe is a Tibetan actor. He is known for his role as Takster (Takster Rinpoche), the Dalai Lama’s oldest brother, in Martin Scorsese’s Kundun (1997).
Lodoe grew up in Dharamsala, northern India, where his parents had settled after fleeing Tibet in 1954. In 1996 a casting director visited the settlement looking for Tibetan actors for the film. Lodoe was cast after meeting Scorsese and joined the production in Morocco. He later moved to the United States to study journalism at Northwestern University.
