Biography
Teresa Cheng is an animation producer. Born in Hong Kong, she moved to Seattle and graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Arts in communications in 1979. She began her career at CBC Television in Toronto, where she was introduced to computer graphics, before working as a commercial and visual effects producer at Digital Domain and Rhythm & Hues.
Cheng spent 17 years at DreamWorks Animation in roles including production manager, head of production and producer. Her credits there include Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron (2002), Shrek 2 (2004), Madagascar (2005) as co-producer, and Shrek Forever After (2010) as producer. She later served as general manager of Industrial Light & Magic Singapore, a Lucasfilm division, and held roles with Oriental DreamWorks. She is chair of the John C. Hench Division of Animation and Digital Arts at the USC School of Cinematic Arts.
In 2010 Cheng was named to the Producers Guild of America’s Digital 25 list for her work on Shrek Forever After.
