Biography
Teresa Pellati was an Italian actress. She performed in theatre before making her screen debut in 1952 as Ines in Roberto Rossellini's Europa '51.
She appeared in a small number of films during the 1950s and early 1960s, including Totò and the Women (1952), Ulysses (1954) as Melantho, and War and Peace (1956) as Liudmila. She maintained a long professional and personal association with Silvana Mangano, later serving as her consultant and companion; several of her films were produced by Dino De Laurentiis.
Pellati retired from acting in the mid-1960s. She later returned to Sassuolo, where she operated a perfumery until her death in 2010. The Teresa Pellati Award for best acting performance is presented annually at the Ozu Film Festival.
