Biography
The Slickers were a Jamaican rocksteady and reggae group active from the late 1960s to the 1970s. Centred on Derrick Crooks, with other members including Winston Bailey, Roy Beckford and, at times, Abraham Green, the group is best known for its recording of 'Johnny Too Bad'.
The track featured on the soundtrack to the 1972 film The Harder They Come, for which the group received a composer credit. The song and soundtrack helped introduce reggae to wider international audiences.
