Biography
Théophile Michault was a French cinematographer active in the early years of cinema. He worked as a camera operator for Georges Méliès at the Star Film Company from around 1901 to 1904.
Michault is credited as cinematographer on Bluebeard (1901) and A Trip to the Moon (1902), the latter alongside Lucien Tainguy. He later co-founded the American Kinetograph company with François Lallement and Maurice Astaix, and established Michault et Cie, which operated several cinemas before its assets were transferred to the Compagnie des Cinéma-Halls in 1907.
