Biography
Thol Simonson was a special effects technician and crew member whose career spanned feature films and television from the 1940s to the 1970s. He was born on 28 July 1912 in Los Angeles, California, and died on 10 October 2010 in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Simonson worked in special effects on Red River (1948), The Thing from Another World (1951), The Big Sky (1952), episodes of I Love Lucy, Men Into Space (1959–1960), The Outer Limits (1963–1964) and Adventures of Superman. He also received credits on The Longest Yard (1974) and The Klansman (1974). On The Big Sky he is credited as Boatman (uncredited) and boat operator (uncredited).
