Biography
Tilly Fleischer was a German athlete who competed in track and field events. She took part in the 1932 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, where she won bronze in the women's javelin throw, and the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin, where she won gold in the same event and set an Olympic record.
She appears as herself, uncredited, in footage of the javelin competition in the 1938 documentary film Olympia Part One: Festival of the Nations, directed by Leni Riefenstahl. After retiring from athletics she competed in handball and later ran leather goods shops.
