Biography
Tim Eliott (also credited as Tim Elliott) was a New Zealand actor. Born Timothy James Gordon Eliott on 25 March 1935 in Eltham, he began his career in New Zealand theatre and radio in the 1950s. He was a co-founder of Wellington’s Downstage Theatre in 1964 and emigrated to Australia in 1968, where he worked extensively in stage, television, film and voice-over roles.
He returned briefly to New Zealand to play Colonel Elliot in Geoff Murphy’s Utu (1983). His other screen credits include the Lecturer in Young Einstein (1988) and an uncredited appearance in Moulin Rouge! (2001). Eliott died on 22 April 2011 in Wentworth Falls, New South Wales.
