Biography
Titi Matsumura, also known as チチ松村 or Chi-Chi, is a Japanese guitarist and composer. He is one half of the acoustic guitar duo Gontiti (ゴンチチ), formed in 1978 with Gonzalez Mikami. The pair debuted on record in 1983 and have since worked extensively in film, television and animation.
Matsumura is credited as musician on the soundtrack to Hirokazu Kore-eda’s Nobody Knows (2004), released under the Gontiti name. Gontiti also composed for Kore-eda’s Still Walking (2008) and the television series Going My Home (2012), as well as earlier films including Nowhere Man (1991).
Born on 6 September 1954 in Osaka Prefecture, Matsumura trained as a guitarist in his teens and performed solo before forming the duo. He has also worked as a radio presenter and writer.
