Biography
Tom Donaghy is an American writer, producer and director who works in theatre, television and film. He began his career as a playwright, with productions at venues including Atlantic Theater Company, Playwrights Horizons, Lincoln Center Theater and South Coast Repertory. His plays include The Beginning of August, Minutes from the Blue Route, Northeast Local and Down the Shore; a collection was published by Grove Press.
In film and television, Donaghy wrote and directed the feature Story of a Bad Boy (1999). He created the ABC series The Whole Truth (2010) and co-created the Fox musical drama Star (2016–2019) with Lee Daniels. He also wrote episodes of Without a Trace, Fairly Legal and The Mentalist (2014–2015), on which he served as co-executive producer.
