Biography
Tom Parker, born Andreas Cornelis van Kuijk, was a Dutch-born musical entrepreneur best known as the manager of Elvis Presley. He immigrated to the United States in the 1920s, changed his name, and built a career in music promotion from the late 1930s, working with artists including Gene Austin, Eddy Arnold and Hank Snow.
Parker became Presley's sole manager in 1956 and remained in that role until Presley's death in 1977. He received an honorary rank of colonel in the Louisiana State Militia. He appears in archive footage in numerous documentaries about Presley, including EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert (2026), Elvis: That's the Way It Is (1970) and Elvis Presley: The Searcher (2018).
