Biography
Tómas Örn Tómasson is an Icelandic cinematographer. After graduating from the Commercial College of Iceland, he studied history for two years at the University of Iceland and documentary filmmaking for one year at the University of Copenhagen. He worked in various film departments before committing to cinematography full time.
He has worked as a director of photography for two decades on features, television series, documentaries and other projects around the world. His credits include Arctic (2018) and Mihkel (2018) as director of photography, and LazyTown (2004–2014) as cinematographer. He has also served as camera operator on Pacific Rim: Uprising (2018).
Tómasson is president of the Icelandic Cinematographers Society (ÍKS) and has supervised the cinematography department at the Icelandic Film School.
