Biography
Tony Burgess is a British writer, actor and stand-up comedian based in Manchester. He wrote additional material for the first two series of the BBC Three sitcom Ideal (2005–2006) and created and wrote the seven-part BBC sitcom The Visit (2007).
As an actor he played Troy, the brother of the central character, in Ideal across seven series (2005–2011). He has also written for other comedy programmes including The 11 O'Clock Show, Paul and Pauline Calf's Cheese and Ham Sandwich and John Bishop's Britain, and contributed additional material to Steve Coogan projects. His stage plays have been performed at the Royal Exchange Studio Theatre in Manchester.
