Biography
Tony Hirst is an English actor, theatre director and narrator. Born on 21 January 1967 in Manchester, he has appeared in numerous television series and films since the 1990s.
He is known for playing Mike Barnes in the soap opera Hollyoaks (2006–2010 and 2016–2017) and Paul Kershaw in Coronation Street (2010–2013). Other credits include Shameless (2004), Broken (2017), Pistol (2022), Brassic (2019–), Boiling Point (2023) and Old Guy (2024). He has also narrated the UK version of How It's Made (2001–2019) and other documentaries.
In 2025, Hirst appeared as Jerry in the series Riot Women.
