Biography
Tor Weijden was a Swedish actor. Born Tor Olof Johanson on 6 January 1890 in Stockholm, he made his film debut in Mauritz Stiller’s Thomas Graals bästa barn (1918) and appeared in around ten films up to 1929.
He is known for his supporting role as Gustafsson in Victor Sjöström’s The Phantom Carriage (Körkarlen, 1921). Other credits include Karin Ingmarsdotter (1920), Värmlänningarna (1921), Andersson, Pettersson och Lundström (1923) and Charles XII (Karl XII, 1925). He also worked in theatre, playing leading roles in provincial Sweden and Finland.
Weijden was married to actress Ruth Weijden from 1915 to 1920 and to Bullan Weijden from 1923 until his death on 24 December 1931 in Stockholm.
