Biography
Toshihiro Isomi is a Japanese production designer, art director and film producer. He was born on 1 February 1957 in Daito, Osaka. He graduated from Ritsumeikan University College of Social Sciences and worked in fashion and publishing before entering film design through theatre connections in the 1990s.
Isomi has frequently collaborated with director Hirokazu Kore-eda, serving as production designer on After Life (1998) and Nobody Knows (2004), and as art director on Still Walking (2008). His other credits include production design on Prisoners of the Ghostland (2021), Like Someone in Love (2012) and Tokyo! (2008), and art direction on Battle Royale II: Requiem (2003). He has received two wins and five nominations for his work. Since 2008 he has been a professor at the Graduate School of Film and New Media, Tokyo University of the Arts.
