Biography
Toshiyuki Matsui is a Japanese film producer associated with Toei Animation. He has worked on several animated and live-action features, including as producer on The First Slam Dunk (2022).
Matsui first approached manga creator Takehiko Inoue about a Slam Dunk film project in 2003. After years of development, the feature was greenlit in 2014 with Inoue writing and directing. Matsui received the Grand Prize at the 42nd Fujimoto Awards for his work on the film.
His other producing credits include After the Flowers (2010) and Pop in Q (2016). He is also credited as producer on Devilman (2004).
