Biography
Tōtetsu Hirakawa is a Japanese production designer and art director. His credits span several decades and include work as an editor on Glow of the Firefly (1958) and as art director on films such as Kumo ga chigireru toki (1961) and If You Were Young: Rage (1970).
He served as production designer on Woman in the Dunes (1964), directed by Hiroshi Teshigahara, sharing the role with Masao Yamazaki. In 1965 he and Yamazaki received the Mainichi Film Award for best art direction for the film.
