Biography
Truman Capote was an American writer and screenwriter. He co-wrote the screenplay for the 1953 film Beat the Devil with director John Huston.
Capote wrote the novels Breakfast at Tiffany's (1958) and In Cold Blood (1966), both adapted into films in 1961 and 1967 respectively. He also co-wrote the screenplay for The Innocents (1961), for which he shared an Edgar Award.
Born Truman Streckfus Persons in New Orleans, Louisiana, on 30 September 1924, he died in Los Angeles on 25 August 1984.
