Biography

Tu Yiran is a Chinese film editor. He began his career as an editing assistant on films and television after graduating in 2000, with early work including the series 25 Children, One Father. He later worked as an assistant in the editing workshop at Beijing Film Studio before becoming a full editor and editing supervisor.

Tu Yiran is known for editing numerous comedies, including Lost in Thailand (2012), The Breakup Guru (2014), Lost in Hong Kong (2015) and Hello Mr. Billionaire (2018). He has also edited action and war films such as the Brotherhood of Blades series (2014, 2017) and The Eight Hundred (2020), on which he shared editing duties with He Yongyi. He has collaborated repeatedly with director Guan Hu since Design of Death (2012).

His work has received several award nominations, including for Golden Horse and Golden Rooster awards for best editing on Brotherhood of Blades, and he won a Behind the Camera Award for Lost in Thailand.
