Biography
Tura Satana was a Japanese-American actress and exotic dancer. Born Tura Luna Pascual Yamaguchi on 10 July 1938 in Hokkaido, Japan, she moved with her family to the United States and spent time in the Manzanar internment camp during the Second World War before growing up in Chicago.
She appeared in a small role in Irma la Douce (1963) and guest roles in television series including The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (1964). Satana is best known for playing Varla in the 1965 film Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!. Her other film credits include Our Man Flint (1966) and The Astro-Zombies (1968), and she voiced the character Varla in The Haunted World of El Superbeasto (2009). She died on 4 February 2011 in Reno, Nevada.
