Biography
Ursul de Geer (3 January 1946 – 7 December 2020) was a Dutch actor, theatre director and television presenter. Born in Zeist to a noble family, he studied economics and andragogy in Amsterdam and began acting through student theatre. He performed with companies including de Nieuwe Komedie, Toneelgroep Centrum and Persona before directing stage productions such as adaptations of Sándor Márai novels.
De Geer appeared in films directed by Paul Verhoeven, including Spetters (1980) and The 4th Man (1983) as the third husband. Later screen roles included Black Out (2012) as Rudolf and Bon Bini Holland (2015) as Mr van Vleuten. He also acted in television series such as Flikken Maastricht and Danni Lowinski, presented programmes including ’t Is hier fantasties, and provided the Dutch voice of Mr Banks in Mary Poppins.
