Biography
Valerie C. Woods is an American television writer and producer. Born on 1 November 1962 in Chicago, Illinois, she began her career after receiving a Screenwriting Fellowship with Walt Disney Studios in 1993. She has been a member of the Writers Guild of America, West for over twenty-five years.
Her credits include work on Touched by an Angel (1994), Any Day Now, Soul Food, Queen Sugar (season 4, 2018–19), and Sweet Magnolias (season 2, 2021–22), where she served as writer and co-executive producer. She later worked as co-executive producer and writer on the Disney+ series The Crossover (2023) and the Apple TV+ mini-series The Big Cigar (2024). One episode of Any Day Now received a GLAAD Media Award nomination. She has several projects in development through her company MCV Productions.
