Biography
Vasyl Krychevskyi was a Ukrainian production designer, architect and artist. He trained in architecture and drawing at the Kharkiv Technical Railway School and began working as an assistant to a Kharkiv architect in the 1890s.
He is credited as production designer or art director on numerous Ukrainian silent and early sound films made at VUFKU studios, including Zvenyhora (1928), Earth (1930) and Nazar Stodolia (1937). Krychevskyi also designed the Poltava Zemstvo building (1903–1908) and the coat of arms of the Ukrainian People's Republic (1918). He died in Caracas, Venezuela, on 15 November 1952.
