Biography
Violet Hilton was an English actress and vaudeville performer, best known as one half of the conjoined Hilton twins with her sister Daisy. Born on 5 February 1908 in Brighton, Sussex, the twins were exhibited as sideshow attractions from childhood before becoming popular performers on the vaudeville and burlesque circuits in the United States during the 1920s and 1930s.
They appeared in Tod Browning's film Freaks (1932) as Siamese twins and later starred in the independent feature Chained for Life (1952). After gaining legal emancipation from their managers in the early 1930s, the sisters continued performing until live entertainment declined. They spent their later years in Charlotte, North Carolina, and were found dead in their apartment on 4 January 1969.
