Biography
Vladimir Mikhaylov (also credited as V. Mikhaylov, Vladimir Mikhaylov-Lopatin or В. Михайлов; real surname Lopatin) was a Soviet stage and film actor. Born in Moscow on 10 December 1861, he died in the same city on 31 March 1935.
After a career in law, including service as a judge, he joined the Moscow Art Theatre in 1911 and appeared in more than 150 productions. He began film work in the 1920s, with roles including Pelageya's husband in Don Diego i Pelageya (1928) and the priest in Aleksandr Dovzhenko's Earth (1930). He was named Honoured Artist of the RSFSR in 1933.
