Biography
Vlastimil Harapes (1946–2024) was a Czech actor, dancer and choreographer. He appeared as Kristián, son of the Bishop of Hennau, in František Vláčil’s Marketa Lazarová (1967). He also played the Beast in Panna a netvor (1978) and featured in films including Starci na chmelu (1964) and Jak vytrhnout velrybě stoličku (1977).
Harapes trained at the Prague Dance Conservatory, graduating in 1965, and joined the ballet company of the National Theatre in Prague the following year. He became a soloist in 1971 and later served as its artistic director. His stage career included international performances and work as a choreographer and pedagogue.
