Biography
Vsevolod Illarionovich Pudovkin was a Soviet film director, screenwriter and actor. He was born on 16 February 1893 in Penza, Russian Empire, and died on 30 June 1953.
Pudovkin directed Chess Fever (1925), Mother (1926), The End of St. Petersburg (1927) and Storm Over Asia (1928). He also acted in several films, including the role of Nikolay the Fanatic in Ivan the Terrible, Part II: The Boyars' Plot (1958). He was awarded the title of People's Artist of the USSR in 1948.
