Biography
Walter Santesso was an Italian actor, director and screenwriter. He appeared in supporting roles in numerous Italian films from the early 1950s onwards.
He is best known for portraying the news photographer Paparazzo in Federico Fellini's La Dolce Vita (1960). The character's name subsequently entered common usage as the term for intrusive celebrity photographers.
Santesso later directed and wrote several films, including the children's film La carica delle patate (1979), which received an award at the Giffoni Film Festival.
