Biography
Wang Deshun (also credited as Wang De-Shun or 王德顺) is a Chinese actor and model. Born on 20 August 1936 in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, he began his career as a stage actor in his early twenties with a military drama troupe before joining the Changchun Drama Theater.
In his late forties he moved with his family to Beijing, where he developed a distinctive form of living sculpture and pantomime, performing internationally in the late 1980s and early 1990s. He later appeared in films including The Forbidden Kingdom (2008), Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame (2010), Reign of Assassins (2010), Big Fish & Begonia (2016, voice) and Ne Zha 2 (2025, voice of Wu Liang Xian Weng). He is also known for runway modelling, notably at China Fashion Week in 2015, and for obtaining a pilot’s licence in 2021.
