Biography
Wataru Ōmae (also credited as Wataru Ohmae or Ômae) was a Japanese actor. Born on 14 February 1934 in Gunma Prefecture, he appeared in numerous supporting and bit roles in Toho kaiju and tokusatsu productions from the early 1960s to the mid-1970s.
His film credits include an official in Mothra (1961), a police officer in Atragon (1963), a Happy Enterprises employee in Mothra vs. Godzilla (1964), a newspaper reporter in Ebirah, Horror of the Deep (1966), a meteorological observation plane co-pilot in Son of Godzilla (1967), an SY-3 astronaut in Destroy All Monsters (1968), Sakura in Space Amoeba (1970), the helpless police officer in Godzilla vs. Hedorah (1971), and a henchman in Godzilla vs. Gigan (1972). He also appeared in the television series Ultra Q (1966).
Ōmae died on 24 December 2017. He was married to May Smith.
