Biography
Wilbur Higby was an American actor of the silent era who appeared in more than seventy films between 1914 and 1934.
Before entering films with Universal, he played professional baseball and performed in stock theatre companies, including with Otis Skinner. He often played supporting roles, frequently as the father of the heroine.
Among his credits are True Heart Susie (1919), in which he played William's Father, and an uncredited role as a London Policeman in Broken Blossoms or The Yellow Man and the Girl (1919). His daughter, Mary Jane Higby, later became an actress in radio, television and film.
