Biography
William Mang is an Austrian actor born on 17 May 1954 in Vienna. He trained at the HB Studio in New York from 1974 to 1977 under Ute Hagen and Horton Foote, and passed the Austrian stage examination in 1978.
He has appeared in numerous German and Austrian television series and films since the 1980s. His credits include the role of a teacher in The Piano Teacher (2001), Alan Tanner in The Final Executioner (1984), and the recurring part of Stefan Thalbach in the telenovela Tessa – Leben für die Liebe (2006–2009).
Mang has also worked extensively in theatre, including at the Wiener Schauspielhaus, the Berliner Schillertheater and the Theater in der Josefstadt. He has released audio recordings of works by Georg Trakl and Thomas Bernhard, and lives in Vienna and Berlin.
