Biography
William Osborne is an English screenwriter, author and former barrister. Born in 1960, he was educated at Gresham’s School, Holt, Robert Louis Stevenson School in California, St John’s College, Cambridge, where he studied law and served as Vice President of the Cambridge Footlights, and the Middle Temple.
In the 1980s he moved to Hollywood with writing partner William Davies and began a screenwriting career. Their credits include the screenplay for Twins (1988) and later films such as Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot (1992), Ghost in the Machine (1993), The Scorpion King (2002) and Thunderbirds (2004). He has also worked as a producer on several projects and contributed to more than sixty films.
Osborne married film producer Debra Hayward in 2001; they have four children. He returned to England and has written children’s fiction, including Hitler’s Angel (2012) and Winter’s Bullet (2012).
