Biography
William Sackheim was an American writer and producer. Born on 31 October 1919 in Gloversville, New York, he began his career in the 1940s writing for films and later moved into television production and screenwriting.
His credits include the story for The Art of Love (1965) and the screenplay for First Blood (1982), co-written with Michael Kozoll. As a producer he worked on The In-Laws (1979), The Competition (1980) and numerous television films and series, including Gidget and The Flying Nun. He won two Primetime Emmy Awards, for an episode of The Alcoa/Goodyear Theatre (1959) and the television film The Law (1975).
Sackheim died on 1 December 2004 in Beverly Hills, California.
