Biography
Willie Chan (also credited as Willie Chan Chi-Keung or 陈自强) was a Malaysian-born Hong Kong film producer and talent manager. He graduated from the East-West Center in Hawaii in 1966 with a master's degree in marketing and moved to Hong Kong in 1970 to work in the film industry.
Chan is best known for his long association with Jackie Chan, whom he managed from the mid-1970s and with whom he later produced films in Asia and North America. He formed the JC Group in 1985 and had producing or executive producing credits on titles including Police Story (1985), Police Story 3: Super Cop (1992), Shanghai Noon (2000), The Tuxedo (2002), Shanghai Knights (2003), New Police Story (2004) and Rob-B-Hood (2006). He also produced Stanley Kwan’s Center Stage (1991).
Chan died in Hong Kong on 24 October 2017, aged 76.
