Biography
Wong Jing is a Hong Kong film director, screenwriter, producer and occasional actor. Born Wong Yat-cheong on 3 May 1955 in Hong Kong, he is the son of director Wong Tin-lam. He began his career as a scriptwriter for Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB) in 1975 and later wrote for the Shaw Brothers studio.
He made his directorial debut with Challenge of the Gamesters in 1981. Wong has directed, written or produced more than 175 films, often working on several projects simultaneously through his production companies. Among his best-known works are God of Gamblers (1989), City Hunter (1993), God of Gamblers' Return (1994) and Hail the Judge (1994).
